System Widgets on a Custom Tray
Added by jslate almost 2 years ago
It appears there is no way to have System Widgets reside on a Custom Tray, correct? Is this a technical limitation, or is it something I should suggest as an enhancement?

I did find a way to make it work the way that I want. I just needed to have the springboard controll all of the individual blocks that are the system widgets I want to show and hide.

Could you explain what you did better for a complete idiot like me? What I've tried to do is altar other peoples themes -'cause I can't do my own - but want a spingboard that would hold things like the wifi, airplane, vibrate, silent widgets and call it something like tools - but I cant' figure out how.

Set up your widget/widgets how and where you like them and create a 'plain color' pane by going to edit mode, then 'menu', then 'new', then select 'plain color'. If you are not aware of how to edit your plain color pane I would consult some documentation found elsewhere in these forums. Set the plain color to a level just beneath those nifty widgets. In your springboard configuration that calls up the widgets, set it to call up the plain color as well. BUT, if youre like me, I would definitely like to be able to place widgets directly into a custom tray so they are scrollable within said tray. If someone has figured out how to do that would you please let me know! hahaha

Thanks for posting. Tried it and it actually worked - which is saying something for me to have done it. BUT, yeah, I was hoping to get them scrollable too. Making progress though!

In the current version of SH2 I'm 99% sure there is no way to make scrolling widgets or add them to a tray. They need to be added individually as springboard controlled elements.
With color & picture blocks, you can do a lot to heighten their appearance.
