Opening an app inside of a tray?
Added by Corykennethwilson over 1 year ago
I am fairly new to Sweeter Home but I have been spending a lot of time playing around and currently working on a theme. I've come across a little problem that I thought someone here might be able to answer.
I've created a screen that has four springboard buttons along the right side. These buttons control widgets and apps that are for use in the car... such as maps, navigation etc. One button is used to launch Google Maps. My goal is to keep the tray that houses these buttons visible at all times, even while an app/widget is launched. The point of this is to make easier switching between items.
I have no problem configuring the widgets to do this, but when launching an app, it opens up over the entire screen and therefor my button tray is no longer in view until I "back out" of the app. So my question is... is it possible to set an app, such as Google Maps, to open within a custom tray, so as to not take up the whole screen (leaving my side-tray in view?) If that is not possible, does anyone know if you can in any way control the "layer" that the app is in? Im assuming that's not possible, and what actually happens it that the "home" app closes and the Google Maps app opens? Finally, does anyone know of a Google Maps widget that I could use for this?
I have a feeling I'm out of luck, but thought you guys might have some creative ideas. Thanks!
