Your best idea is to use an existing username, and CHANGE the password. Try that.
Then try uninstalling SH and install it again.

Sorry, things have gotten busy lately.

Is there a way to change the password from the phone? I can't login to the site using the account I made on the phone.

But I did try creating a new account here, then using that one from the phone, and got the "need to log in" message. Tried chaning the password on the site, and log in from the phone, but then it said name and password don't match. So changed it back to the original password, and now it does the "need to log in" message again.

Also tried updating to the eclair 825 version from June 30th.

I am starting to wonder if the 1.5 or 1.6 version may work. Are those missing anything that the 2.0 version has, or is it just compiled for the other OS? IF it's the same, I might give it a try.

Dude, if you can post here, you should be able to log in via the phone.

Scroll up the top right there and hit "Account" - then click the "change password" link.
Uninstall SH, resinstall, then use your new password. Remember everything is case sensitive.

When I use this account (souleman all lower case), it says "Your username and password did not match. Please try again."

I just installed SH again, then tried logging in 3 times, changing the password on here between each time. Got the same message every time.

Tried using slide out keyboard, smart keyboard, and stock android keyboard, just in case the input device was doing something.

I am logged in here from a pc... wonder if I can log into the forums from my cell browser.

This is from the ddefault browser app, so I can log into the site, but get that error when trying from the SH app.

Just a side note. Tried the cupcake and donut builds also, just in case, but got the same result with all of them.

1 other thing that I forgot (using them reminded me), the very first time I try to log in with the other account (larrysoule is the username, it is the account I made on the phone that can not log into the forums, but doesn't give me the "name and pass didn't match error"), it gives an error:

"Got exception: /data/data/com.sweeterhome.preview2/files/active.slx Please report this bug."

I did report it, but wanted to put it here also, in case it makes a difference (or you don't see the actual bug reports).

Another thing, just to make sure it was actually doing something with the larrysoule login, I did put in the wrong password, and it gave the name and pass don't match error.

Is anyone else using this on a default 2.1 moment install? Wondering if it is just me having the problem, or if it is something with the phone. I know I have run into a few other odd things with this phone (for example, SIP calls always use the media speaker instead of the normal earpiece, and the other person always hears an echo of everything said).

Could you try logging in, let it fail, and then use Menu/Report Bug to send a bug report immediately after the failed login?

Okay, I did something odd to my phone. Now, it says "Make sure you are connected to the internet". Not sure how I pulled that one off, because I know it still has internet connection. For some reason, the SH app doesn't though. Checking themes wouldn't show any theme's available, yet I even tried downloading an app from the market (which worked) at the same time, just so it would already be using the 3g connection.

If I get that sorted, I'll see if that fixes this issue also. If it doesn't, I'll use the menu/report bug and let you know as soon as it has been done.

I am starting to expect it might be something with my specific phone. Like it isn't maintaining cookies properly or something. I recently had a similar problem logging into a secured wifi connection. It will log in, but then nothing happens, and when I reopen the browser, it wants me to log in again.

It was a problem with the actual phone. I ended up having to do a factory reset (twice, once through recovery council and once in settings), but it seems to be working now.
