how do i get the dialer to work?

Every time i click on the dialer icon from different themes the thing says that I need to download the app that was used by the person who made that theme.

One thing you have to keep in mind is that different builds of the Android operating system use slightly different core applications (Dialer, Market, Gallery, Maps, etc) so a shortcut built into the theme may not be the same as what you have on your unit. You will have to edit the theme and replace the shortcut with the application for your device.
