Scrollable Widget support?
Added by ignatius over 1 year ago
Just downloaded a scrollable contact widget designed for users with home replacement apps installed. It requires the replacement app supports scrollable Widgets. I don't think SH currently supports this. Am I wrong? Sidenote: I'm just looking for an intuitive way to "flip" Or "scroll" through a select group of contacts images to direct dial/text/view contact card etc. Any one have a decent suggestion?

SH doesn't support the scrollable widgets like Agenda Widget or the Pure widgets. But it does allow scrolling with the built in trays. For example, if you put in a contact tray, it will list all your contacts, and you can scroll through them (though they don't have images). But you can put in a "custom tray" and then use something like Any Cut or Better Cut to make shortcuts to the contacts. There is another free program for making shortcuts that allows you to use any image you want, so you could use the contacts pictures if you wanted.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm aware of those options, But was just hoping for a simpler setup.

I have to agree here. Lack of scroll widgets is the one thing keeping me from using sh... especially as they have grown more common. While I appreciate the built in agenda and contact list, one dev cannot offer the level of detail that the entire market can. I, for instance, am completely lost without a scrolling gridcal widget with timelines.
If implementing scrollwidgets required temporarily disabling up/down desktop switching or some similar feature-limitation, I'd definitely opt in.
Anyways, I know you probably do this project for your own fulfillment so I hope I don't sound critical/needy. I'm just trying to say I love your work and creativity and with just one more feature-add it'd be practical to enjoy it fulltime.

SH is built from the ground up, it isn't just a modification of the default launcher (which is what EVERY other home replacement app is). Because of that, widgets have been the dev's nemesis.
