Springboards in springboards?

Added by ritalin over 1 year ago

This is my first post and I am brand new to the SweeterHome launcher. I am currently working on my first theme and I have to say that I love the flexability that SweeterHome affords me.
I am currently working on a landscape view for driving. I want to have all of the most commonly used features on one central screen.

I have hit a bit of a snag in my plan. As you can see in the first image there is a text layer for music which has a springboard to open the sub-menu (custom tray) below it. My goal is to have several music option in this sub-menu that contain springboards of their own that open up the correlating widgets below the sub-menu as seen in the second pic. The problem is that when I click on the sub-menu spring board the whole thing vanishes. I understand why this is happening, as the top menu springboard controls this sub-menu. I have found that if I use a springboard icon, It works as expected, but I can not figure out how to change the look of that icon from its default.

Any thoughts or ideas to solving this are welcome.

You need to name the "group" in your springboards. So the 2nd level for example should all be "group2" or something unique.

Search for "HierarchyDemo" on the SH theme list for an example you can look closer at.

Thanks for the answer, I had a feeling it was something to do with groups.

Ok so one problem fixed another pops up.
Again using the images above as a reference. If I click on music I get the sub-menu containing the springboards for winamp, subsonic and pandora. After renaming the group for each of these springboards to "music group lvl2" I am able to get the widgets to show just as expected. Now here is the odd bit, that I cant seem to figure out.

Lets say I have clicked music, then winamp this will bring up the winamp widget. If I then press phone on the top row which is part of the "default" group, the winamp widget goes away and the phone springboard contents activate.
However if I do the very same thing but use subsonic instead, the widget does not go away when I activate the phone springboard. I have triple checked the springboards in "music group lvl2" and they are all identical short of the difference in widgets, all of them are set at minimizable "yes", on by default "no". I have tried recreating the springboard and the same thing happens. Whats really odd about it, is one it works fine for the winamp widget, but also the background gray square that accompanies each of the music widgets DOES go away, it is only the widgets themselves that are giving me trouble.

Any ideas.

OK your best thing to do here is check the naming carefully:

If Phone, GPS and Music are all springboard blocks then they should all be group "default"

Winamp, Pandora and Subsonic should all be "music group lvl2"

If "music group lvl2" is a subset of "default" then when you open another springboard in the "default" group, the other "default" springboards should close.

Double check everything. If you're still having probs then email me your .slx file and I'll take a look: punyweakling (at) gmail (dot) com.

Never Mind, I forgot to add two of the lvl2 springboards to the music springboard. All is well now.

Thank you again for your help.

Hey there!

I would like to say hello to all of you! It is a good discussion board. I'm thinking about advertising on this web site, such as banners and ads as well as exclusive communications. How is it possible below? I could hardly come across any information about it.

Thanks and best regards!
