Found a nifty trick to set a default home screen layout that pops back after springboards are reset (Cheat, until it can maybe be implimented?).

Initially load a wallpaper and take a snap shot of the Blank screen (Just wallpaper) the use this snap as a fake Background to overlay in front of you default home screen layout. Set all desired default layout blocks to layer 1 and the screen to layer 2 and call the Fake BG with any desired springboard. This give the impression of the default layout is disappearing when a springboard is pressed yet when the springboard is reset it reverts to normal, Viola! Its a bit of a cheat but it works real nice. Them will be up soon I have to do some real work here, I've been playing with this all day. LOL

Few little finishing touches to do and I'll share. Its pretty basic but I like functionality too as well as bells and whistles.

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

Added soft dropshadow to dock to better match Android 2.0 Power, Music and news widgets.

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

Think i might mod the Flipclick weather widget available on martket to match this theme. I do prefer it to the Beautiful Home clock widget.

I like your progress LJB. I may have to download this theme and explore how you did some things. Very impressive UI, very polished!

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by Lemon about 1 month ago

Really great shit man. I'm guessing the top arrow on the app tray is cosmetic?

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

For now just cosmetic, I did want to put springboards to better sort Icon but makes problem for sliding screen down I will place another menu at bottom for this. For me it has to remain as functional as possible I cant stand going to slide things over and missing the clicking on something accidently. I have a couple of Grad's to add here and there to remove the sharp transitions as long as performance is no affected too much .

I'm optimising all the graphics and shrinking everything as small as pos' (So another tip is for those that can take the extra time and optimise you images the performace increase is noticable), currently its smooth as on my hero, Can't wait to see how things work when my Nexus gets here.

A little tip to all, many of the standard android widgets scale nicely (Power bar here for instance), @Lemon maybe show that in video??

Cheers to all for comments I'll continue to polish a little further and make it avail over the next couple of days, all graphic are currently based on phone so its not ready to share just yet I have to make everything avail from my web space.

@Lemon Just a thought and maybe and maybe you would be kind enough to pass toward Dev. XML or similar export/Import?? That way a desktop theme editor would be feasible and not to difficult to make.

Whoot My Nexus one just arrived

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by blaseb about 1 month ago

How's your work coming along? It looks great so far.
I've been checking the forum daily too see if you released it.
I'm getting pretty rambunctious!

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

Sorry People for delays, I killed my Hero with a drop and I am working to correct Resolution issues Differences between the two handsets Hero - Nexus. I hope to have something by the end of the week. I might just release what i have for hero and call it, So thats the hold up.

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

Nexus One Varient

Top drawer is empty for you to do what ever you like with. Drawer graphic is similar to Drawer image above. Each of the tiny little icons in the header bars work taking you to the respective place. Complex gradients are used to get a Rolling look and feel similar to the rotating dails on the ihpone.

I'll do my best to up by the end of the day.

It looks like very cool
don't go work today and finish the theme!! ;)
thanks for ur job, i really want test this

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

Nexus One version available for download from the themes server. For look to remain consistent Please use Beautiful Home clock widget and I recommend that you use either of the 2.0 widgets News or Music for front screen. Power widget needs to be added to the Settings tray accessed from right dock button. Cheers everyone and I hope you like. I will do many more I enjoyed the skinning process immensely. - LJB

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

Updated to 1.1 to correct small misalignment of gradient on Upcoming events frame.

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by Lemon about 1 month ago

Are you going to do a 320*480 version?

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

Ok so what are the current resolutions that we need to work in Can we pin it all down in one forum post. I have used Sweeter home's grads and colour boxes to do aloot of stuff here not sure how it will look at much smaller res. and it will all be guess work. But i may have a crack, I'll just have to get the calculator out I guess. This is where a Desktop editor would com it extremely usefull with previews as to how theme will look at different resolutions. So maybe this is the excuse needed to push the developer in that direction. ;-)

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

And can we please request the abillity to edit our posts to the webmaster. My Spelling is Shite!! especially when im not really concentrating on what I type! :-P

Help here: http://sweeterskins.net/2009/04/exact-full-screen-image/ (this is old and relates to the G1/Magic screen res only... might be helpful. I thought you still had a myTouch?

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by Lemon about 1 month ago

Oh further to all this, your theme as-is actually scales quite well onto my Magic.

One thing people can try messing with is setting text selection as %'s instead of exact pixel sizes. It's a bit more fiddly to set up and test but would help with scaling issues.

Eventually I'm going to try building DarkRising in Droid specs on my Magic, and see how it scales when the Droid crowd use it...

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by genei09 about 1 month ago

I tried using the percentages for text size with Treking, but couldn't get it to look consistent from one boot to the next.

I was actually going to post a question about how the scaling is calculated because when I tried to use percentages it didn't make any sense why my text was the size it was. then just when I thought I understood it, the text size changed when I rebooted, but then suddenly changed again when i went into edit mode.

I can't seem to find the theme anywhere -- it doesn't show up in the "Themes" section of the Settings, or on the sweeterskins site. Where can I download it?

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by Lemon about 1 month ago

Search under Author for LJB...

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by quzman about 1 month ago

Will this run with my Mt3g ?

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by Oisin about 1 month ago

Jeez man, if you charged just 2 bucks for this, you could be rich!

THIS IS AN AWESOME THEME, THINK OF IT!

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

Skinned the Flip clock to match the Eclair widgets.

DL the weather widget donate clock from the market and place this in the prettyweather-googlecode-com folder on your sd card then you can select the Eclair.zip and skin the clock. Due to limitation on graphic size I cannot include the drop shadow to match things up perfectly.

Eclair.zip (35.9 KB)

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

I'll fix weather next

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by LJB about 1 month ago

@Lemon or anyone with smaller resolution can you confirm that clock skin looks good? I'm stuck now without touch as drop broke it good.

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by Oisin about 1 month ago

Obviously that was an obnoxious joke\

sorry who are offended

RE: Android 2.0 Theme - Added by joshuajtl 22 days ago

I'm having trouble figuring out how to change from having the left button on the bottom bar from opening contacts to opening favorites instead. Any help?
Thanks,

So I notice the only calendar I seem to be able to use on here is my Google one. Is there a way to be able to use the Corporate Calendar app in place if the Google one on the right hand screen? Thanks and great work btw!
