Password protection?

I was playing with screen locking via an empty springblock and the possiblity of password protection for a springblock came up.

Here is a possible scenario.

You have a home screen set up display various useful information but don't want anyone to be able to click through to your emails, contacts, change screens, etc. So you place an empty springboard over the entire screen at layer 9 and springblock to enable/disable it on layer 10. Obviously everything else would have to be below that.

Tapping the springblock to unlock brings up the password dialog. The springblock does not activate (and thus disable the screen lock layer) unless the correct password is entered.

Other possible details:

Password do not persist with theme uploads. Similar to widgets in downloaded themes, first use of a password protected springblock prompts for a password and possibly disables the lock permanently if on password is entered. (Can be set manually later by editing the theme, if needed.)

Editing a password protected spring block requires knowing the password for it.

Ideally, the option to edit the theme could require a password, as well.

It may be too complex and unneeded to add password possibility to all springblocks. Maybe a new lock block that acts like a spring block but has the added password functionality, options to relock on screen timeout and/or sleep modes, or relock each use... that kind of thing.

Anyway... I think it would add a layer of security (and thus serious enterprise applicability) that is largely missing from Android at the moment, at least as far as I know.

You could have a password springboard asking for the password, and if you type in the password would bring all the things is is controlling.
