Springboard images

I've been playing around with springboards and picture block images for on/off states. Implementing this isn't that easy (I still haven't figured it out, yet).

It would be much easier if a springboard just had the option of images for the on and off states directly. A toggle between image or custom design would be ideal.

The reason I'm creating images for on/off is because the current editor doesn't have the ability to adjust the settings to make a button press that looks real. I'm pretty close but it would be nice to have the ability to shift the text a specified number of pixels instead of mid left, mid center, etc and the ability to set specific colors for each of the 4 sides of the frame with transparency and user angle adjustable gradients. This would give the ability to create very realistic buttons because you could create inner and outer drop shadows to give the "pressed" effect of a button.

Yeah I've considered this one several times man. You run into problems the deeper you think about it. For one, you're locked into the grid for your image, so you're almost trading one constraint for another. However there are usage cases when it'd be nice for an image to be replaced rather than overlaid.

Your second idea of moving frames similar to CSS has been bandied about for a while. I'll hassle the dev about it again when he gets freed from the chains of work.
