Animated Springboards

Is there consideration being given toward having the option to change the animation of items controlled by a springboard? For instance, the way and image can fade in and out from left to right in a powerpoint slide? Think it would be a cool addition in later (probably much later) iterations of SH!

I wanted this ages ago man, it's very difficult to get your head around though when you start thinking about different implementations. OpenGL could help though. This is prolly be a consideration for a version in the distant future :P
