Theme creator on PC/Mac

The ability to edit and generate themes on your computer would be a huge leap. This would give far more flexibility with using images as part of the theme and would give the developer the ability to be far more creative.

Maybe XML or similar export/import first to build the framework for passing to and from other apps?

I think a web based editor (HTML5/Java/Flash) would be the way to go for sure. Way down the road once the app is "finalized". That or the team would need to grow to support two separate platforms.

I have an idea, try using the Android SDK, download Sweeter Home 2, then create the theme from there, then export it from your "phone."

ah, never mind, switched to google api and now I have it installed. Emulation methodology is kinda counter intuitive, but ah well. can't complain about free

Actually genei, I came up with that and have no idea how to install the apis. which firmware and api level do i use?

RE: Theme creator on PC/Mac - Added by genei09 almost 2 years ago

When you create the emulator it has a list of api to use already. Rather than Selecting "SDK Platform Android x.x, API x, revision x" select "Google APIs by Google Inc., Android API x, revision x"

ok, I've got the emulator up and running on an IMAC, downloaded SH2, works like a charm! Now just have to figure out how to start! How can I import a theme I've altered on my phone to the emulator?

One more thing, I just noticed that I don't have a market app? Shouldn't I be able to connect to the market do download apps and widgets?
