Wow! Tried out SH with a custom 2.1 ROM on my G1!

I've been a CyanogenMod dedicated user for awhile now. While I was waiting on him to get done playing with his N1 I finally bit the bullet and tried out a different user's ROM again. I first tried out Manup's ROM (gotta respect Manup!) which was pretty darn good. Then I tried out KingKlicks 2.1 v1.3 ROM and ended up using that for a few days with SH before his v1.4 was released.

I decided that I would totally clear out the old and I wiped EVERYTHING and did a nice clean install of the King's Rom:

I installed all of my apps fresh, including SH...

HOLY CRAP! Now I know how stuff SHOULD RUN on a decent phone. For the first time I feel like my phone is responsive and EVERY widget I have tried works great.

SH runs smooth, draws at a great rate, all of the trays open wonderfully, etc. I am in heaven (OK, that may be a SLIGHT exageration). If you don't have your G1, Magic, or Hero rooted... I feel so sorry for you. If you do... I highly recommend that you backup all that you can and install either Manup's, Cyanogen's, or KingKlick's latest ROMs along with SH. Make sure you wipe your data, dalvik-cache, etc and install all of your apps fresh from the Market. I tried them without doing that and the ROM's just didn't run as fast. Also, you will need to use the Donut version of SH as the kernal for the ROM's are still 1.6.

I have multi-touch (no big deal for me), the new browser, new GMail, etc all running great on my G1!

SH runs like a CHAMP with four widgets running. One of them is the Pure Messenger widget which checks up on my Gmail, my Work email, my Twitter, and my SMS/MMS all in one app (so, it is memory intensive). They all run great. AND, my battery life is about 50% more than it was under my older ROM!
